James Earl Dodson

This is my Dad.

He is the funniest, friendliest, most honest guy you will ever know. I know I'm biased because he's my dad, but I know this is true.
He was born May 19th 1951 at Burns Memorial Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Doing a quick Google search, I come up with no information about this Hospital, but it was near Downtown Tulsa.

He was born to James Robert Clayborn Dodson and Alberta Lucille Spain.

His half sister Sandy is on the left and his half sister Cathy is on the right being held by their mother, Alberta Lucille Spain-Dodson.

He was the first child of James and Alberta (or Lucille as she was known) but the 5th of the combined family.
From a previous marriage of his father's James Earl Dodson had

and one sister
Thelma Jeannie Bradford 23 Oct 1929.
Their last names were formally Dodson but were changed when they were adopted.

From a previous marriage of his mother's James Earl Dodson had two sisters.

and Catherine Lynn Winter

After my Dad was born came two more boys

Ralph Douglas Dodson "Doug"
and Edmond Eugene Dodson "Gene"

My dad graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa. He was Class of 1969. Right out of High School he joined the Army and was sent over to Vietnam. He Served 2 tours over there.

And was with the 1st Calvary, and 25th Infantry in Vietnam

and the 8th Infantry in Germany.

After he left Vietnam he married Patricia Ann Cooper in January of 1971, he then continued his last tour with the Army in Baumholder, Germany with his new bride in tow. After the Army He had many occupations but his most prominent Occupation was as a Goldsmith. He and his wife are still happily married after 39 years and are ready for 40 this January.

So it is important for you to know, if you do not already, that in Genealogy you don't start with you or your living parents. And you NEVER take pictures of a headstone of somebody who is still living. There are plenty of superstitions that come along in the world of Genealogy, but I follow almost NONE of those rules. It is not because I don't care, or that I don't have respect for other people, it is simply that I am on a mission, and that is to find out who my family is. To begin, My name is Jentry Marie Dodson-Moore, I am the daughter of James Earl Dodson of Tulsa,Ok and Patricia Ann Cooper of Stillwater,Ok. I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I like to Travel, I sometimes like my Family, and I LOVE my family history. It is not a super interesting family tree filled with countless celebrities... or even a celebrity but it is my family history. This blog will be specifically about my Paternal Grandfather (Dad's Dad)'s Family and the men who came before him. I was born in 1986 my Brother James Robert Dodson was born in 1983. Aside from that, until we die there is really no other info needed of us. But you can take a gander at this adorable picture of us....

The Beginning of something Never-ending

Starting blogs of my Family History, decided that I would be out of luck if something EVER happened with Ancestry.com So I would like to document my info for the world to see.... Other places.
